Is a stop over at peking airport considered an entry?

Im flying to china then visiting korea for a little while, before returning to australia. But my flight has a stop over in china before arriving in australia. Then is that considered a single entry or double entry?

It is considered as a double entry, but you don't need a visa for your stopover in China if you won't leave the airport during the transit and the transit is less than 24 hours.
