About:China Visa Application in USA

Do I need a Visa for simply connecting in Beijing airport from us to bangkok?

I was informed that I will need to get a visa in order to stop in Beijing on my way to thailand. I do not plan to leave the airport. Is this true? If so, How can I apply for this when the instructions above say I will have to be in person to get one?

If the stopover is less than 24 hours in Beijing airport adn you don't plan to leave the airport, a transit visa is not required.

If you cannot come to China embassy/consulate in person to submit application, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to drop off your application at the visa office. It is not mandatory that you have to apply for China visa in person.
