About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can it be a simple round trip i.e. US > China > US?

Above you say "You can fly to China from wherever you want, as long as your next flight is to a third country". Does it HAVE to be a "3rd" country" or can it simply be US > China > US?

US - China - US are just 2 countries, a 3rd country is missing.
If you're on a transit, there's always 3 countries involved.

Did you even read the article above before you posted your question? US > China > US obviously requires a visa.

So what are the Visa rules for simply visiting only China from the US, and then returning to the US?
