About:China Transit Visa

2 people transiting through Shanghai leaving on cruise ship within 12 hours

We are arriving in Shanghai and joining a cruise ship leaving Shanghai the same day. What papers do we need? A letter from the cruise company usually is okay , we will also be transported to the ship by a port agent.. One is a British citizen the other US.

Thank you.

You two need a China tourist visa (L visa) per person if you arrive in Shanghai from a foreign country, Hong Kong or Macau. It is not considered as a transit if you arrive in Shanghai by airport and then leave Shanghai by ship on the same day.
