Usually, a single-entry visa allows one to stay in China for 30 days. Each entry of a double or multiple-entry visa usually allows one to stay in China for two months. If you have immediate relatives in China, you can apply for a temporary rsident permit, which may allow you to stay in China for 6 months for the first-time applicaton.
