Tourism Visa to China from Hong Kong

Hello, I want to travel to Shanghai in two weeks but I have no visa. At the moment I am in South Korea in bussiness and I found out that I can't get a visa to China from here, since I would need to have an alien card. This weekend though, I am travelling to Hong Kong for tourism from Friday evening to Sunday. I suppose the Chinese consulate on Hong Kong Island will be closed during the weekend. Do you know if I can apply for a tourism visa to China from the airport in Hong Kong during the weekend?? Thanks for your help.

You can't apply for a tourist visa to China from the Hong Kong airport during the weekend. According to your itinerary, you have to obtain a China tourist visa in Hong Kong, but you need to wait for the next Monday. The Hong Kong airport can't issue China visa. The Commissioner's Office of China Foreign Affairs Ministry in Hong Kong has the right to process China visa application. You can submit the application to China Travel Service office at the Hong Kong airport, it can get the visa on next Monday for you.
