Why don't you apply for a new China visa earlier? Now your visa expired in April 2011, you can't use it to enter China, you have to obtain a new visa. Do you have the offical invitation letter from a government office which allows you to get a visa on arrival at Shanghai airport, otherwise, you ca't obtain a visa on arrival, you have to delay your trip to China or even give up the trip.
