You need to apply for a China business visa if you have the "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation". Other documents include passport and copy of the first three pages, visa application form, passport photo.
If you don't have the invitation letter, a tourist visa is also OK for you. And the requirements for the tourist visa include: letters in Chinese language by individual/entity in China and six-month bank statement, passport and copy of the first three pages, visa application form as well as passport photo.
