Train ticket cancellation

I booked Train tickets from Hangzhou to Shanghai at a Designated Ticket Office (not railway station) in Beijing for 7th Oct. Now I want to cancel these tickets. Where and how I can do this?? Does ticket offices will be open during holiday (Oct 1 or 2) if cancellation is allowed there? or Should I go to Train station counter only?
