F visa extension

Hii :)
I'm holding F visa 6 month and multiple entry. it's stated issue date is 18august and enter before 2012. duration of each stay 30 days.
i arrived in china on 13th September, which mean by 13th October i will need to renew my visa. I live in shanghai, so if i go to the visa centre and extend there, how long they gonna give to me ?is it 3 months ?

i understand if i go to hongkong for example and come back to china, i will have 1 month again to stay

please let me know about this.

There are several situations may happen if you are going to extend your current visa.
1. A visa is usually extended before it's going to expire. Your visa are not going to expire, so I'm afraid the officer won't extend it for you.
2. The officer won't extend it because it is a multiple-entry one.
3. They may cancle your current visa and give you a new single-entry one, which allows you to stay in China for another 30 days. This is visa renewal. In this case, if you leave China 30 days after, you need to apply for another China visa to enter China.
People in your case usually travel outside China to get another durtion of stay.
BTW, you should go to the Shanghai Public Security Bureau (PSM) Exit and Entry Administration office for this, not the visa center.
