About:Chinese Embassy in South Africa

Do I qualify for obtaining a Chinese Passport?

Good afternoon Sirs,

I am South African born by a Chinese father and German mother. My grandfather came to South Africa from Main Land China, can I apply for a Chinese Passport? or how do I go about changing my nationality to Chinese from South African? I would appreciate your reply in the above matter in due course.

Kind regards

Now, it is hard for you to change your nationality from South Africa to Chinese even though you are born by a Chinese father and german mother. When you are born, your parents can choose to join the nationality of China, German or South Africa.

You can go to China embassy or consulate in South Africa to enquire.
