Can I apply for a China visa in Hong Kong?

can I obtain a visa to enter China in Hong Kong as I am unaware of my travel and have to visit other countries first for an unspecified time.

Yes, Australian passport holders can apply for a China visa in Hong Kong. You can apply either at Visa Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong SAR
(Address: 7th Floor, Lower Block, China Resources Building, No.26, Harbor Road, Wanchai ) or from the travel agency CTS.
