i have 5-6 days to spend in china ideas on where to go what to see!

Question

I have 5-6 days to spend in China - starting from Beijing, in October  this year.  I would like to get out of Beijing and experience country life and beautiful scenery ( I sketch and paint), and meet local artists. Would preferet to stay in one place rather than spend my whole time travelling around.  Any recommendations appreciated!

Well, it is the peak tourist season at the begainning of October since it is the Chinese National Holidays. There will be crowds. I suggest you to join a tour which is more convenient for you rather than travel by yourself.  Anyway, there are many tourist places in China for you to choose.
