Is it a good idea to get a VISA for China anyway?

I see you do not need a VISA to travel to China for up to 2 weeks. Is it still a good idea to apply for a VISA?

Now Australian citizens are granted a 30-day visa free entry to China. So you do not need a visa for a 2-week trip here.
