About:Chinese Embassies in Europe

I have a Belgian passport and Home return permit, do I need a visa to go to Beijing and other places in China?

Hi

I am a permanent resident in Belgium and I have a Belgian passport. But I also have a valid HK ID, a valid HK passport and a valid Home Return Permit. I will be flying from Europe to Beijing. Will I need a visa? Or when arriving Beijing, will just the Home Return Permit be suffice? I'll also will be flying from Beijing to other places in China. Will the Home return permit be enough or is visa required?

Thanks!

Yes, the Home Return Permit is enough for your trip in China. Strictly speaking, you should first enter Hong Kong, then enter Mainland China by holding Home Return Card. However, many people enter mainland China directly from overseas by holding Home Return Card without problems.

Please don't worry, everything is ok.
