British citizens living in Spain apply for China visa

We wish to apply for a Chinese visa. Can we make our application in person in Madrid? How long do we wait for the visa. If we do an on-line application what is the minimum time you need to keep our passports.. As British citizens living in Spain, Spanish authority says we should keep our passports with us at all times. How can we proceed please?

Yes, you can apply for China visa in Madrid in person since you live there. I'm afraid on-line application is not available. Usually, it takes 5 working days to process a visa. But if you want your passport to be back as soon as possible, you can apply for the Express service (3 working day) and Urgent service (2 working day) with extra payment.
