I work in PIA (islamabad). Do i still need to provide a character certificate/ police verificationfor China visa application?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I work in PIA (islamabad). Do i still need to provide a character certificate/ police verification as PIA comes under wing of Ministry of Defence. Please keep in mind that this will be the first time i would be travelling to China. I m planning a leisure trip with friends.
