Cycling - Is it possible to travel from Kunming to Yushu in February and March?

Hi,

I would like to cycle from Singapore to Xining. Is it possible to travel from Kunming to Yushu in February and March? Yes, I know it will be very cold and the altitude makes it tough, but I will be well prepared.

Are passes often closed during winter?

I think you'd better choose another time. You only need to go through one pass, that's when you enter China. The pass should be open all year round. The road condtion will be Ok. But road may be closed when it snows.
