Can my family file Chinese visa paperwork for me in the USA?

I am also, coincidentally, living in Okinawa, and was wondering if my parents, who will be visiting and traveling with me through Asia this year can file the paperwork on my behalf along with their own at the Chinese Consulate in the USA? I would prefer to not have to travel to Fukuoka, or hire a travel agency to do it for me. Are there options to doing this? Thanks!

Yes, your parents can apply for you a China visa in USA, so, just send back your passport, and ask them prepare all required documents first before going to Chiense embassy/consulate. BTW, a single entry China tourist visa is valid for 3 months from issue date. visa processing takes 4 working days in general. So, check your travel plan (entry date) and apply for China visa on a proper time.
