Connecting Flight in T1 of Shanghai Pudong Airport. I-I

Hi all!!

This is my first time to transit in ShangHai and am kind of confused with the info all over the internet. I just want to double check by asking. I am flying with China Eastern for both of my flights connecting at ShangHai Pudong, both in T1. I also read some where that Pudong requires ALL passenger to recheck-in no matter what. Is it true? For my case, since I am flying with the same airline and in the same terminal, must I still recheck-in my baggage and all? Or should I check with China Eastern? I cannot find their email on their websites so if possible can anyone who knows provide it for me?
