About:Chinese Consulate in Sydney

Can an Australian citizen get a Chinese passport?

I have heard that if your parent or grandparent was born in China, you can apply for a Chinese passport. My grandfather is Chinese and was born in China. I was born and have always lived in Australia, am I eligible to get a Chinese passport?

Cheers
Hannah

You are not eligible to get a Chinese passport. China government doesn't recognize dual nationality. Even though you give up your Australian nationality, you can't get a Chinese passport, either.
