Working in China: Can my Thai partner accompany me on a 'dependent visa' if we are unmarried?

I have a longtime lady partner aged 46 who is Thai and not a teacher. I am a UK citizen living and teaching in Thailand. If I find work in Thailand can she accompany me and stay in China for up to a year on a 'dependents' visa if we are unmarried?

No, Ian, dependent visa application requires your marriage certificate. So, she can not apply for a dependent visa accompanying your work visa in China.
