About:Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka

Do Sri Lankan passports holders transiting via HKG but not changing flights need transit visa to HKG?

Example: I was booked on Thai Airways to travel to seoul on TG628 which has transit in HONGKONG for about 1hour at ground. I did not have to change any flights, but the AIRLINE refused me and told me that I did not hold the transit visa to HONGKONG.Please advice me if I need in this case. Many Thanks.

All nationals of Sri Lanka (except holders of Diplomatic and Official passports) are required to hold a valid visa for the HKSAR for whatever purpose (including those who are in transit and remain on the airside). Holders of Diplomatic and Official passport may visit the HKSAR visa-free for a stay not exceeding 14 days.
