would like to (group of 5) from Shenzhen airport to the hotel in Kowloon

will the best approach be to take a taxi to Lo Wu shopping mall (which is the crossing to HK). Should be 150Y and take 45 minutes. After crossing to take the train to Kowloon or another taxi directly to the hotel?
all the discussions I see are for traveling between airports... please advise if I can avoid HK airport and go directly to Kowloon
