Are there any problems with New Zealanders getting a Chinese visa in Colombo?

Is it possible to get a 3-month tourist visa?

You can try to apply there, a single entry China tourist visa is generally with duration of 30 days, but don't worry, you can extend it twice within China at local PSB if you need other two more months for travel.
