About:Chinese Consulate in Sydney

Do we need to complete the medical check for foreigners before we can get a Z-class working visa?

Soon going to china for work. The previous time I went to china for several years, they did the medical check after I arrived and then for each renewal of my resident's permit. However my (Chinese) employer sent me a form to be completed by a local physician (BG-14) and told me it is necessary for the working visa application. However nothing on the consulate website or the CVASC website says I need to have the medical check done before I leave.

In case it matters, the province is Fujian and the city is Fuzhou.

So, do I need to get the medical check?

But this site, for Sydney, says nothing at all about it. It is the list of requirements for the Z-class visa application: http://www.visaforchina.org/SYD_EN/visainstruction/252191.shtml
I am from NSW so Sydney is my processing center, not Brisbane. Why are the instructions different between two cities? Sydney should update the requirements if it is necessary (but it was unnecessary in 2002 when I last went to China for work).

Yes, you need to get the medical check for foreigners before you can get a Z-class working visa. The website CVASC in Brisbane says that 'Applicants need to provide a valid physical examination record'.
