About:Chinese Embasy in Ireland

My friend wants to go to China for specialist medical treatment. Does he need a visa?

I would like to accompany him for consultations with the doctors in China, and also when he is in a specialist hospital there. Do we both need visas? His treatment time will be 30-45 days.

Can you also please tell me how long it takes to process a visa application? Thank-you

Yes, you both need visas. It takes 4 working days to process a visa if all requirements are provided. The specialist hospital should send your friend and you an invitation letter to prescribe the purpose of coming to China, stay duration, the name of you and your friend, the passport number of your friend and you, etc.
