About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

I'm Indian, can I extend my Z visa in China?

I have been issued a Z visa on 25th June. I am in China to get my TRP. If I do not get the TRP within a month, I have to leave China as I could stay there for 30 days only. Can I extend my Z visa there in case there is a delay in getting the TRP? Where should I apply for extension. My work visa papers were received from Dongguan foreign affairs department.

You don't need to apply for extension of Z visa if you have already applied Temporary Residence Permit, TRP is not issued to you on time, it's not your problem, you can take the accommodation sheet from a police station in Dongguan and the copy of application documents to prove you are in the process of temporary residence permit

I entered China on a Z visa and had applied for a TRP in shenzhen. There was a delay in issuing the TRP. The officer in PSB said that I can stay in China for 30 days only. So she advised me to leave for Hong Kong and get a new visa to enter China. Unable to understand this rule. My TRP is in process and I have received the receipt for that. Should I leave China and come back again with a new visa? It is indeed fishy.

You don't need to leave China and come back again with a new visa, just take the receipt of TRP to live in Shenzhen and wait for the TRP.
