train times to badaling

Question

What are the current train times from Beijing North Station to Badaling and also the return times?  We want to travel there next Thursday.Do we need to buy the train tickets in advance and where would be the best place to do that if we are staying near Wangfujing Street.  We really would like to travel by train to Badaling. Seems less hassle than trying to find the right 919 bus for example.

Departure time of Beijing North Railway Station: 0612, 0758, 0834, 0903, 1057, 1243, 1314, 1333, 1525, 1711, 1741, 1801, 1945, 2130, 2201, 2231;Departure time of Badaling: 0613, 0643, 0712, 0820, 1050, 1118, 1148, 1300, 1524, 1552, 1620, 1731, 1953, 2019, 2043, 2151. THe train has been operated somehow like the public transport tools like subway and city bus, so there is no need to buy the ticket in advance. If you have a Beijing transportation card, just swipe the card to enter the station to take the train; if not, go to buy a ticket first and then enter the station.  THe seats on the train are unnumbered and you can have a seat on any of them. As I have said, just like on a subway or bus.
