About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

TRAIN options - Macau to Guangzhou then to Zhangjiajie then to HK

United States passport holders - after spending some time in Macau, can we do this:
1 - Take TRAIN from Macau to Guangzhou
2 - Fly from Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie
3 - Take TRAIN from Zhangjiajie to Hong Kong

It seems that this plan works by air but I'm not sure about taking trains...

Actually, you cannot take a train from Macau to mainland China. This is not eligible and the fact is that Macau is not connected to mainland China by train. Your option is to take a ferry from Macau to Shekou port in Shenzhen. This is eligible way how to enter mainland China from Macau. The route is operater by TurboJet ferries. Everything else you have planned is definitely acceptable and if you take a ferry from Macau to Shekou your entire itinerary will be eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. You have to take care to buy your exit train ticket (Zhangjiajie to Hong Kong) in advance, even before you depart from Macau toward Shekou. You will be asked to provide a train ticket booking confirmation in both Macau and upon arrival in Shekou. Have a nice journey.

Thank you for this - after I posed my question I realized my error and came to the same conclusion but I'm glad to see it confirmed!
