traveling Mongolia - Jiayugan - Urumqi, then go to Tibet

Do the above trains stop in Golmud? I am traveling Mongolia - Jiayugan - Urumqi, then want to go to Tibet. Could I get to Golmud by train or air and connect to Lhasa from there? What would be the best way to do the Urumqi segment? If trains do not run daily I would hope not to be stuck somewhere for more than a day or two. Thanks

As what I have just answered, from Mongolia to China, you could reach Beijing first. Golmud city is located in Qinghai Province which is situated between Lanzhou and Urumqi. And trains from Jiayugguan to Urumqi do not have stops at Golmud. So, it is better for you to visit Urumqi from Jiayuguan directly by one train. And on the return, you could get to Lanzhou first and then to Lhasa, as there are no direct trains from Urumqi to Lhasa. To save time, you could also take flight to Xining first and then to Lhasa.
