About:Beijing Subway

route to Beijing tiananmen square & forbidden city

We are going to stay at NOVOTEL XINQIAO 1 Chong Wen Men Xi Da Jie 100005 BEIJING CHINA and we would like to go to Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City, which one take us the nearest route? As we've got the info, both are adjacent one to each other.
How do we get there, suppose we are going to take subway?

Yes, these two places are located together, just separated by the Chang'an Avnue. In fact, from this hotel, you could walk to Tiananmen Square and the proceed to the Forbidden City. Or, you could take subway Line 2 from this hotel for only one stop to Qianmen Station, and then exit to the square. There are also many buses running on this way.
