About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Can I renew my old HK ID card to the latest Smart ID card here in San Francisco, CA?

I was born in Hong Kong had been moved to San Francisco when I was 18 years old and no chance to return Hong Kong to renew my old HK ID, may I renew in San Francisco ? or must be done in Hong Kong ?

You can't renew your old HK ID card in San Francisco, you have to return to Hong Kong to renew it.
