What to write in 'reason for entry' on tourist visa application?

I've recently been invited to work for a school in China.

I've asked them about visa applications and they told me to come on a tourist visa, and they will organise the paper work/ health check etc to enable me to get a work visa from Hong Kong.

However they've told me to write 'work' as the reason for entry with the address of the school. I'm worried that this is a little strange as I'm applying for a tourist visa and may result in my application being rejected.

Should I explain that I will apply for work visa after arrival on the form?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, you are right, you can't write 'work' as the reason for entry if you apply for tourist visa, you can write 'tourism' for the purpose of coming to China. Once you get a tourist visa to go to China, your employer will organise the paper work/health check etc to help you to get a work visa from Hong Kong. Therefore, now you just need to get a tourist visa to enter China.
