I am a Nigerian and with a good job. I will be on my annual vacation between July & August 2011, what type of visa will i apply for if i want to visit a friend in Guangzhou.

You can try to apply for a Tourist visa L to China for visiting your friend. In this case, the invitation letter from your friend is required, as well as copies of his passport or ID card, China visa or residence permit if a foreigner in China.
