About:China Visa Application in USA

traveling from south korea to china

we will be in south korea for a month as an exchange teacher program. we want to travel to china for the weekend, do we get the visa here before we leave or from south korea? Also, do we have to buy our tickets to China before we get our visas? Also, do we have to go to the embassy in the state we are living in or one that is closer to us?

Yes, China single entry visa is good for 3 months since issue, you need to apply for it before going to South Korea, and you can not get China visa in Korea if you are short-time visit there. Tickets are not required if you apply for China visa in US. You are required to submit your visa application to Chinese embassy or consulate which hold the consular jurisdiction of your state.
