About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

i have a 15 hour stop over in shanghai can i leave the airport to visit the city, on a UK passport?

If you want to visit Shanghai during stopover, you can apply for a one day stay permit at the airport. Or, you just apply for a China visa in advance, either tourist or transit visa is ok.
