What is the visa extension fee for US passport holder?

I am currently in Guangzhou with a double-entry L visa, and need to stay beyond the 30-day limit. I'm trying to decide whether to get an extension at the local PSB, or go to Hong Kong or Macau to activate the second entry left on my visa. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

You'd better go to Hong Kong or Macau to active the second entry left on your visa. If you apply for visa extension, the fee for US passport holders is very high, it takes about 1000 RMB and it takes a few days to get it.
