About:Entry Regulations of China

how much local currency can i take into hong kong and also mainland nanning province?

is amount of local currency restricted on entry to both regions?
should i take all local currency only or are atm's widely available outside main tourist cities?

5,000 US dollars (or equivalent in any foreign currency) or 20,000 CNY is permitted to taken into China. If you want to take more, you will have to declare it. To enter Hk, 5,000 US dollars (or equivalent in any foreign currency) are allowed. You can take some currency with you within the limitation of the China Customs, and draw some more from the state-owned banks in the country if needed.
