About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Will I be able to get a temporary residence permit in china if I an on 3rd month of TB treatment?

I have Tuberculosis and is currently on my second month treatment here in the Philippines. I was supposed to leave for Shanghai to work last March 2011. Unfortunately, I was found to have Pulmonary Tuberculosis in my medical exam in the Philippines before leaving the country. I was asked to treat at least 2 months here in Philippines then to just continue another 4 months once in China. My Pulmonologist told me that he can give me a clearance once I have completed at least the first 2 months out of the whole 6 months complete treatment course, as written in theWorld Health Organizarion (WHO) guidelines. I am wondering once I arrived in China where I will be having repeat medical test in June 2011, will they grant me a Temporary Residence permit or will they reject my application and send me home on the basis of having Tuberculosis? Does China follow the WHO guidelines? I know that United States and Europe follow the WHO guidelines that as long as at least 2 months of treatment, it is allowed. However, I understand that there are other countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar who does not follow these guidelines and does not allow hiring foreign workers even if patient is currently on treatment or has completed treatment. I would like to know the health policy of China re PTB of those who are currently on 3rd month of treatment? Thank you.

I don't think you can get a temporary residence permit in China because you are on 3rd month of Tuberculosis treatment. If you don't complete the whole 6 months treatment, you won't pass the medical examination.
