Visa to China, no visa to Hong Kong for Zimbabwean citizens?

I am sure I read it right but can you confirm that there are different requirements for Hong Kong and China and therefore, as a Zimbabwean citizen, I must have a visa to go to China and no visa for a 90 day visit to Hong Kong?

Yes, you are right. Zimbabwean citizens are not required visa to HK for up to 90 days. They can go with passport, return ticket and sometimes hotel reservations. For visiting mainland China, they must apply for a visa in advance through Chinese embassy or consulate.
