rain in july

Question

Are rainy days in mid-July in the Yangshuo/Guilin area steady rain or monsoon-type rain, or are they just showers that come and go?  We'd like to get outside at least some of the time.

Guilin has a sub-tropical monsoon climate so that you may meet monsoon-type rain during July in Guilin. Well, sometimes, it may be just showers. Anyway, you'd better always remember to bring an umbrella with you.
