Boat service in Summer Palace.

HI - Just wondering where the boat to the Summer Palace leaves from. Is it from behind the Zoo ( I will be in Beijing in May and have been told the boat transport to the palace is running then )? And how long is recommended at The Summer Palace.The guide on Travel China Guide recommends 1.5 hrs . I cannot walk great distances / lengths but was wondering if this was enough ?
