About:24 Solar Terms

Dear Tiziano,

I think that you are right that every term affects us. First, notice how the Earth is where you are living and how it makes you feel, and what is the cycle for the plants and animals around you. Is there snow, ice, running water, blooming flowers?

I am studying with a Chinese teacher who has exercises for each one that go with the season and how it resonates in your body. Very beautiful.

Good luck,
Ms. M

The solar terms are markers of the year. For example, Spring Equinox, Autumn Equinox, Summers Solstice, and Winter's solstice are the welknown ones know to both Chinese and Western World. Because Chinese and Westerners study the same sun and earth, the dates for these are the same for Chinese and Westerners. Chinese further subdivide the year into 24. One thing interesting here, the day for Beginning of Spring falls near the Ground hog day. So when ground hog don't see his shadow, Beginning of Spring would be first day of spring. If he sees his shadow, spring begins on equinox.

Dear Tiziano,

Try this website: Robertpeng.com. Look towards the top and click on Seasonal Empowerments.
This is free and Robert Peng teaches a meditation on how to bring the seasonal energy in, and spread it throughout your body. A little video for each time. He also writes an interesting and helpful post about the energetic meaning of the moment in the earth's turning. He also gives a simple spinal flexibility exercise, that also relates to the season, since qi travels in the spine and limberness is important to health.
I have taken Qigong classes with him and have much improved my health and also my attitude! He is a sincere practitioner. Good luck Tiziano! Let me know what you think of this! All are welcome to check out the teachings.
There is more on his website, such as a short description of his life and teachers, his classes and his book, etc.
