I wish to purchase a three day octopus card to include use of a return journey on the Airport Express for my wife & myself. We arrive in HK 7th April @ 3pm and leave on April 11th @ approx 6 am; will the 3-day pass expire before the return journey to the airport and will I therefore not be able to take advantage of a 3-day pass?

If you use hte pass since 7th April upon arrival, it will expire on 10th April, before your return journey. It means that you couldn't use it to pay for the Airport Express' return-trip to the airport on 11th April.
