About:Chinese Consulate in Vancouver

Hi,

Do I need a visa eventhough I am just connecting in Beijing then flying to Singapore? I will have an 8 hours wait in Beijing but I will be staying inside the airport. My itinerary is as follow: Vancouver - Beijing arriving in the main terminal then leaving from terminal 3 to Singapore. On the way back will be arriving in terminal one from Singapore to Beijing then leaving from terminal 3 from Beijing to Vancouver. Please advise because I read a lot of site and it says I do not need a visa if I am just on transit and staying in the transit area. HELPPPPPPPP!
