After the 3 Gorges cruise, I plan to take the train from Yichang to Zhangjiajie. I understand that the cruise ship would arrive before 1200 hrs whereas the train departs from Yichang at 1300 hrs. The cruise agent tells me that the ship I am planning to choose will arrive at taohuacun pier, (Peach blossom pier) which is quite far from the train station.
My concern is whether there will be enough time disembarking from the ship, finding a taxi, getting to the train station, finding the ticket counter, queuing and buying the ticket and getting on board the train, all within 1 hour and with practically most of the passengers doing the same thing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also would it be possible to buy the train ticket in advance from say, Chongqing?

Your time is really very tight, in order to catch the train, I suggest you arrive at the train station at least one hour before the train departs. In China, the train tickets can be purchased 10 days in advance.
