About:Zhangmu Town

I recently passed through Zhangmu going from Lhasa to Kathmandu. The border was packed with trucks. I saw none of them move during the 2-3 hours that it took us to get through immigration and across the Friendship bridge. Do the trucks load and unload their cargo or something else? Thanks for any information.
