If i stay in Chengdu, is it possible to visit Chongqing within a day? any tourist attractions there?

yes, it is possible for you to visit Chongqing from Chengdu within a day. You can take the bullet train between them.
Travelling in Chongqing, you can see Dazu Rock Carvings, Ci Qi Kou, General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum and People's Assembly Hall.
