About:Shanghai Cruise Ports

We are arriving in SHA via cruise ship Volendam on 27 April for an overnight stay.
My best information is that we dock at the International Terminal, North Bund.
We have been to Shanghai a few times and this time want to visit Suzhou.
My current plan is to catch a train from the Shanghai Railway Station early in the morning.
What is the best bus or metro means to get from the ship to the station? Numbers and Routes?
Rather than the train what bus can I take to Suzhou?
What do you think is better, bus or train? Also looking at the convenience once we arrive in Suzhou....
Our Mandarin skills are marginal...

There is no direct bus or subway from the ferry terminal to the train station, I suggest you take a taxi there. You can easily find bus from each shanghai bus station to Suzhou and the bus journey is about 1.5 hours. Well, bullet train is also available from Shanghai to Suzhou. Both train and bus are convenient.
